We had a wonderful speaker, John Classe, a Civil Engineer from PBS&J.  John was on the original  engineering team that demolished and rebuilt Baldwin Park into what you see today.  To see a summary of the history of Baldwin Park, from Navy Base to Neighborhood, please visit http://www.baldwinparkstory.com

The
first meeting of the Projects Committee was held on Monday, April 26th where many ideas about potential projects and fundraisers were discussed.  If you are interested in helping on this committee please respond to this email and/or join us next Monday at 6 pm at New Broad Street Realty at the next meeting.

Also, our Rotary Club will have a table at the 3rd Annual Baldwin Park Doggy Derby Event this Saturday,
May 1st from 9-2pm, and we are looking for a few volunteers to man the table. We also need a tent and 2 folding chairs. Marilen will be attending on behalf of Rotary, so please email her at mmarnett@hispanicchamber.net if you are interested in helping out.

Last, but not least,
Rotary Member, Elizabeth McCarthy, invited the Club to join in for a social her not-for-profit is hosting next Thursday evening, 5:30 - 8 at Ember.  Tickets are $5 for drink specials and appetizers.  Proceeds benefit C.A.R.E for Women.
